The Saatchi Gallery
By Katherine Manjarrés
I was on vacation in London with my husband. He is a big fan of Aidan, a Russian artist. She has an individual style based on enigmatic and erotic elements.
I can’t stand walking around sculptures, but this occasion was different for me. My husband wanted to see a good gallery near to Chelsea. The perfect Gallery was “ The Saatchi Gallery”
In that place, I enjoyed the wonderful art of a woman with a different point of view about femininity and intimacy , with enormous academic training. When you are in “The Saatchi Gallery”, you can find two rooms dedicated to this series about Aidan, for example “The Veiled” figure is the protagonist.
If your plan is to visit London and the aim of your trip is to learn about erotic and exotic art , in this city it is easy to appreciate an artist who is able to combine multiple artistic tradition with a female’s touch.
If you want to learn about other culture, one options is to visit a museum, is an excellent idea. I would definitely recommend visiting this gallery, but just if you understand about art or you are alongside a person who can explain you the history behind the sculpture , in my case , my husband is an expert on this topic and he loves to visit museums but if you are student or teacher , this plan is free in this city.
In summary, The Saatchi Gallery is an example of one way to learn about art in the middle a fantastic place like London !

Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art
Last month while I was working in London, I was very excited because I always wanted to visit The National Gallery.
In those days, there was an exhibition in the Sainsbury wing (second floor into the gallery) about Delacroix paintings.
I was in London because I had been working in a new project about cost, and I spent there around one month.
One day Bill Tsang (my workmate), invited me to The National Gallery. I was so glad because I love Eugene Delacroix "The last painter of the grand style". All human passion was expressed in Delacroix´s drawings - stories of love, murder, violence and war.
Delacroix and the Rise of Modern Art is an homage to Frances leader exponent of romanticism.
It was so funny but expensive. I like the art and paintings, but don´t like some things like prices. In UK all is very expensive and we paid 40 (Euro) for each ticket. The painting prices were between 600.000 and 1.000.000 (Euro).
I wanted to buy a few paintings but I didn´t have enough money.
I would definitely recommend spending time in that exhibition. I think it is a good way to forget your problems or things, in fact, there were a lot of people enjoying and sharing different opinions about the art.
